Thinly Sliced Pan Seared Tuna In Special Sauce
Tataki is a manner of preparing fish or meat in Japanese Cuisine. The fish or meat is seared very briefly over a hot flame or pan, briefly marinated in vinegar, sliced thinly and seasoned with ginger. At Jasmine, chef Denny uses a flame torch to sear the tuna steak, then slice thinly and season with ponzu sauce. Tuna tataki is a very refreshing appetizer. The citrus flavor of the ponzu sauce brings out the natural sweetness of fresh tuna. Torched outside holds paper thin sliced tuna steak together that will melt in your mouth. A very pleasing starter that can be enjoyed by both sushi lovers and sushi beginners.
