Spicy Maguro Appetizer
Spicy tuna is a filling made for fusion type sushi rolls. Denny makes it with chopped sashimi grade tuna, red chili paste and Japanese mayonnaise to give it a creamer taste. Fresh spicy tuna mixture is on a bed of pressed rice, known as Oshi-zushi, a favorite and specialty of Osaka. Traditional Oshizushi is shaped like a block; here at Jasmine, Denny incorporates this traditional technique into his own cooking with a modern flare. This tasty sushi starter is served with spicy mayo, scallion, and masago. The spicy mayo gives just enough kick but not overpowering the whole dish.
